Navodari is a town situated in Constanta County, southeastern Romania and is right near the Black Sea. It is an industrial town and is known for its super-phosphate factory. It was originally a fishing village but with time developed into an ultra modern industrial complex by the late 1970s. Navodari was a part of the grand industrialization plan of the late president Nicolae Ceausescu. Around the mid-1980s, the quality of air and water around the area and near the factory had deteriorated. Toxic substances were found in the Lake Tasaul as well as the Black Sea and the pollution reached as far as the Danube delta. Today, however thanks to some environmental organizations the pollution is very much under control.
It is not just a nice city by the Black Sea coast but also offers great real estate investment options. You will find some of the finest homes and properties for sale in Navodari.
