Sinaia is surrounded by the infamous Transylvanian Alps, wonderful landscapes and the legend of Count Dracula. Situated in the lap of breathtaking scenery, you can reach Sinaia from Bucharest (120 km) and from Brasov (49 km). It has got its name from the 17th-century monastery that was built by a Romanian nobleman after his pilgrimage to Mount Sinai in Egypt. Sinaia is also one of the oldest mountain resorts in Romania, and is often called as the “Carpathian Pearl”. It is also the summer resort to the Romanian Royal family. It offers plenty of activities to travelers in the form of trekking and hiking. The city is almost 1200 years old and has Dracula’s castle also known as the bran Castle, 60kms away.
